dc_virus, I think that (what you said) would be keeping the status-quo in the so called developed world. But the gay community is now asking (perhaps rightly?) for a recognition. Some quarters of the mainstream society see it as an encroachment into their traditional institutions. I think the question is whether you belong to one of those quarters...asking you to abandon your indifference and take a side.
