If you took a poll today and asked if interracial marriage is okay, I imagine that you'd get about 80% of people who said yes (let's ignore the fact that 20% of people saying 'no' is scary as all hell). If you went back 40 years and asked the same question, I imagine the situation would be reversed. I guarantee you, if you went back just 20 years, maybe only 5-10% of people would have been pro gay marraige. But in 2004, it's around 40%. Given another 10-20 years, it might be 60-80% as well.
