From your positing, I assume you were married prior to being a citizen. If you were married AFTER being a citizen, it would probably take a couple of months. In my case, it took almost 2 months between starting the application process and my wife's receiving the visa. This was about a year ago. The regulations changed right about then. Now, you have to start the application process from the US (can't file from your spouse's country anymore). This will probably add some delay. Ironically, the situation is hopeless for green card holders. I know of one Nepali lady who had to face this ordeal. She was a permanent resident and had a pretty decent job here. Panipokhari rejected her husband's visa numerous times. Once, she got her citizenship, it was a piece of cake. I am sure you already know this, but just in case, visit www.uscis.gov for the official info. You may also want to consult an immigration lawyer. Best of luck.
