About three years ago in this very Sajha discussion board, I have seen an ugly verbal war between people of different castes. That thread was reflecting a ground reality of Nepalese society, which is tangled with various types of negative practices, one of them is the caste system. Those people were vomiting their hatred for each other. One group had superiority complex where as another group had tremendous anger. Both groups were sick, very sick, and abnormally sick. Three years later, I am reading this thread, which is pretty much similar to that one. However, I found that the people are getting matured. Kudos! Caste system is nothing less than a cancer of our society. I found from my interaction with, even highly educated people are also suffering from this cancer. Poor them! Nothing surprise, I have never considered degree of education as a gauge of wisdom. A MD, who has spent 20+ years of education, is skillful on treating diseases where as a farmer who has never gone to school is skillful on farming. Since there are many people who know farming and less people who know about diseases, that's the only reason why the Doctors more respected in the society than farmers. Education gives you skill, better life, not wisdom. For wisdom you have to purify your mind. Once the switch of wisdom is on, your evaluating part of the mind is off, and you will end up seeing everybody as human, which is the reality. From the people of privileged castes there had been big injustice in the society. This is the right time now for their offspring to correct the mistakes of their fathers/forefathers. Love and equality binds us together. Hatred and inequality breaks us apart. We work together, we win together. To work together our hearts should be tuned up. For that, we have to remove inequality from our mind. If there a small feeling of equality is left, we won't resonate. We won't tune up. Why? Because two waves of different frequency never get tuned up. They interferes and give inharmonic pattern, which is nothing but a noise. This is law of nature. It doesn't take a while for me to burst out into tears when I see two people of different casts or culture mingle together like brothers and sisters. Those are the tears of happiness. Most of the time happiness makes me cry; I don't remember I have ever cried out of sadness. However, It will be a lie if I don't mention this: Few years ago, when a girl, whom I liked/loved (one sided :)), went to get married, I was almost cry :). I usually tell just my name to introduce myself because I feel I belong to every caste. They are all mine, I am theirs. Contd............
