well, follow what hunk_in_grave said, "So right click on that Multimedia Audio Controller (Yellow question mark) then go to Driver tab and then click on the Update Driver button. It will ask for the driver s/w which you need to supply from the CD." If you can't find the CD, let windows search for the drivers. some drivers could be located automatically by XP. try that!
