Those rumors (usually negative) are all
FALSE.
FALSE, and
FALSE (unless proven otherwise)
The easiest way to destroy or have fun with rumors ((depending on how you look at them) in Nepal and among Nepali communities about anyone is by saying these:
QUOTE: Oh yeah? What you are saying against this person sounds really interesting.
Now that you have finished bad-mouthing this person, and now that you have tried to establish that this person is of a khattam characterm do you have
solid verifiably true evidence to back up what you have just said . . or
are you just saying negative things about this person
because you are jealous of him/her or
can't stand him for one reason or
have some hidden motives of your own or
do you have an axe to grind against this person?
In otherw ords, what's the BASIS of your story against this person" UNQUOTE
My limited experience is that: Ask those questions calmly and quietly, and then sit back, relax and watch that for 99.99 per cent of the time, rumours start to dissolve as the other person starts feeling uneasy and tries to back off.
Try it, and see the results for yourself.
Of course, those who really, really want to believe the worst about another Nepali
even when they have ZERO evidence for their beliefs are in this business of rumour-manufacturing for reasons of religion and NOT for caring about the verifiable truth.
