Guyzzzzz, kanchi may have a point. Nevertheless, lets not dwell on that further. Futurepower.. I agree with you on most parts but what do you mean by there are many groups that do not even like each other. Los Angeles is a big city and I believe there are 4 or 5 groups- like Friends of Nepal, Sewa, Himalayan Arts Council to name a few. I have seen these organizations work together and become successful. These groups don't organize the Dashain party but rather their programs are geared more towards charity works. Let the other group organize the Dashain. As long as the groups are putting out unique events and don't step on each others toes, what seems to be a problem here. A few people may have a problem with the fact that there are other organizations in town and may be feeling paranoid or threatened. The saddest part is the same people (perhaps) never tried to understand what the other organizations are all about. But lets not belittle the effort of these other organizations. After all its a volunatry work and all we can do (to the very least) is to support them. Lets get involved and know them. (If this is not what you mean, please ignore my 2 cents). Outrage.. common dude.. we gotta to be inclusive. We can't leave out some folks just because they are too young or two old. Highfly dude.. next time you are in town.. let us know. And I am not sure if I agree with Dr. D's stories in every context. May be it is wise to adapt this lesson in some situations but do not fall for it in every situation. At least I am not. Lastly, all the brothers and sisters... next time when you see some other groups doing some programs, acknowledge their effort and participate (if you have not already been doing). Those of you who came to America just because you can earn $ and ride a car, then sorry that's not my type. At least.. I did not come for that. Himalayan.. my man... Go for it.. I will be there and will bring other folks. Sorry I could not make it to your last one. Good thing people are supporting your effort and I am sure you will support others' too. We can all work together to keep bringing varieties of programs in this city of angels. Aloha and love to all.
