"everytime when they returned home ,silently ,introspective, thinking how fortunate they really were to meet each other . . ." Now one might wonder how a person can feel such an emotion in 4 mths. Oh yeah, it's been 4 months since Saloni started working with Divyaj. If you really think about it, 4 months is like a peanuts in our lifetime. But what is time after all? A measuring stick to determine closeness? Or is it just an instrument to mark the passage of days gone by? You decide. Have we all not been in a situation when we wonder what we were doing with this one person for this long a period of time? And yet feel amazingly close with other in relatively less amount of time? It's all chemistry baby. Did I hear someone say biology ;)? Hehe. :p Like they say, "It takes a minute to know someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to . . .," you know what they say after that right? No I do not know if that is true in their case. But knowing each other in the land of strangers, with certain apprehension, the ease with which they bonded was nothing surprising. Another two months and she would be gone . . . Saloni was a senior from a school in New Haven, about to graduate next semester. Oh yeah, new haven! What a name for a place. It's as if the angels got tired of heaven and moved to 'haven', thus new haven. Perfect match for Saloni ;). Where else could an angel come from? :). If only exquisiteness could kill, Divyaj would be long dead. Her demureness was alluring, her vivaciousness lethal. Divyaj was barely managing to pretend he is immune to all these. You know what they say about spaces between the fingers eh'? It was meant to be such so that another person can come and fill them. No they never held hands, never hugged, never really gazed at each other for long. A brushing of hand albeit accidentally, an awkward smiles, and fortuitous gazes were all they could manage. Would they fill those spaces between their fingers? I hope so. Again, you know what they say about hope eh'? Ah! Some other time . . .;) hehe Saloni always said, she wanted to go back home after her studies, and Divyaj, just used to nod. He did not know what he wanted, or rather what he should want. But Saloni was as determined as ever, always certain about going back. "No I do not particularly miss home, I like it here Divyaj, but I have to go," she often used to say. He liked it when she called him by name, not as sir. It was clear that she was still laded with habitual respectful psychology that they teach us back home. But make no mistake; she is a fierce lady who can hold her own with anyone. As the weeks rolled by, they often met over the weekend, went for movies, just hung around, and went for dinner - stuffs like that. Nothing fancy, just everyday kind of thing, you know. One month, and a week remained for her internship to be over. Time ? why do good ones always whoosh by so fast? They never really talked about separation. Maybe they never wanted to. You know how it is; talking about separation only makes it even more difficult to bear the discomfort. Saloni had started to become a little more reserved in last couple of days. Divyaj was hoping she would tell him what was bothering her. TO be contd . . .
