See you at NY Rally...Nepe

I predict the effectiveness of this rally to be the same or less than the one that was held in DC few months back. If I were to categorize the people who joined the protest, I would come up with 3 of them: 1) The Maoists protesting in the name of democratic republic, whose only short-run aim is to bring the King down no matter how as he has been their biggest obstacle before their goal to make Nepal a communist state after may be getting the Nepalese population down by few thousands or millions, and that too if their thirst for blood is quenched. 2) The corrupt, opportunist ?would like to be? politicians, or ex-politicians or ex-government representatives post 1990, who again see King as their biggest obstacle to their spree of hoarding country?s money and selling it to India. 3) And then there are few who really view King as an obstacle to the democratic progress and development of Nepal and would genuinely want to see a change for the betterment of the country and not personal. Now the problem is, the people from Group 2 have connections and ability to deceive and mis-guide and can amass few hundred Nepalese ?bhedas? easily in US to protest for democracy in Nepal with their hidden self interest. Then comes along, people from Group 1, with hidden agenda of their own but find democracy in Nepal and King the obstacle, as a common denominator with Group 2 to team up. These two different groups are ready to backstab each other if their common denominator is ever to be achieved, as their self-interests and hidden agenda vary. However, they manage to work together at least at the basic level. And Group 3, no one gives a shit about them. Group 1 and Group 2, know that what Group 3 wants, a genuine democracy in Nepal, is not possible as long as their own existence remains. And these people from Group 3 are less influential in such protests and have few ?bhedas? who follow them because people who have belief in them and share the same view believe that to bring a real change in Nepal, one should be in Nepal holding such protest and choose to rather watch College Football on TV than to bake themselves in the sun of by celebrating ?Ghai-Jatara? or an early ?Halloween? in USA.
