That's right, if you want to secure your visa, TOEFL is a MUST with your strong bank balance and property evaluation is plus on that. Getting visa without toefl is rare. If you are applying for community college or 2 years associates degree, getting visa is very very rare. i will say 1 out of 500 will get visa( if s/he is lucky enough). If it was 8 -10 years back, you could come here just to learn english/ESL but lots of things have changed then and now. My suggestion to you is do your TOEFL, take your time, you might need to take more than once if you don't score at least 175. there are many college and universities which will accept 175 score give the admission.
