Hi San diego Nepali ; I am not an expert but I think,it is becuase of the country's unstable politics that leads to Nepal bandh, which then leads to market closure. This contributes a great loss and multinational companies cannot survive on such environment. Further,Nepal has a load shading problem with the electricity which isnt good for foreign companies to invest as electricity ,the very primary necessity for a firm isnt reliable. Its not that we nepalese lag behind in IT, There are thousands of graduates who arent able to utilize their knowledge because of lack of opportunity in Nepal. As mentioned earlier, the goverment has to come up with lucrative policy to attract foreing investment and also, the country needs to maintain stable goverment that wouldnt interfere with the business in and out. We Nepalese in the US dont wanna go back to nepal beacause of Maoist problems and no oppotunity. Chinese and Indian graduates with Masters and Phds in the US are returnig home as their country has tremendous economic boom and they dont need to go through the hurdles such as sponsorship for residency in their country. In the near future if Nepal has all the favorable ingredients for a business to prosper ,then Nepalese graduates will go back home and do like the Indians and Chinese.
