username, thats true what you said but all DVD come with full zone compliant, they play DVDs from all over the world. DELL or HP don't matter. I have dell system. pretty good one. as for aud! if the software says no DVD in DVD drive, the cases might be 1. You're using DVD that is corrupted ordamaged 2. The DVD must be not original, pirated? 3. was it burned DVD? DVD-R or DVD+R creates problem like username stated Your computer knows that D: is your dvd drive or else it would not play the dvd that you could play. try updating the software, by going to your computer's website, and find downloads support and update. rare case, but might work. how many DVDs have you tried playing? try 5-6 at least and if none plays, then GET A NEW SYSTEM.. DUDE YOU'RE GETTING DELL. :P jk
