TripleXji, you pointed out the crux of the matter in Nepalese development and politics. Of course, it is not to blame here the "Brahmins", but the feudal structure of the society, which developed in the course of the time in Nepalese history. Anyway, thanks for putting this issue on Sajha. We should critically review this article, at least, if we use our brain for the development politics of Nepal. Not necessarily placing Brahmans as responsible for opressions, but also to use the matter of facts to understand the socio-dynamics of Nepalese society. XXX-ji, it would be interesting to add in this column how many parties in Nepal, even in current days as of June 2005, are leaded by Brahmins and higher castes (excluding Chhetris): This fact is more stronger than the administrative power, as it recruits and reproduce the administrative structure: e.g. Party Leaded by CPN-Maoist- Bahun CPN-UML- Bahun NC (G) Bahun NC (D) Bahun These big giants parties are led by Brahmins too. However, as stated in Future of Bahunbad, I don't agree with this point. Recent development in education and cultural revolutions, at least sensatization, has made many equities. Equitable education and awareness are the basic tools to make balance in the stronghold of Bahunbad than that of Administrative structure. Another point would be to point on the complex caste system from which Brahmins in history could take advantage of, as the basic problem in Nepal and India than Brahmins themselves. In fact, Social change is a steady process. Our generation, at least in my conscience, I do not care about caste-system, while dealing in intercaste basis. You have raised quite interesting topics, may be we can continue it.
