Now without pointing fingers at either political parties or the king, we should now focus on how these terrorists can be tamed or punished. It is quite, if not very unlikely, that these terrorists will come to political mainstream and stand in an election for they know they will lose. And even if they do, and like we all wish, if peace and stability returns to Nepal, we have hard times ahead. These terrorists might have haunted Nepal for last 10 years but if they are ever to be tamed, and peace and justice are to be brought, the impact of those 10 years will be felt for generations to come. What are all the Maoists militants going to do once the war is over? How willingly will they return from jungle, and start living in a civil society once again? How are the victims of this civil war going to move on in their daily lives? And most importantly, have these terrorists taught another group to pick up arms and start up a guerilla warfare if they are somewhat not satisfied with the government? What if one day for example, a minority group of Nepal is not satisfied with the recognition they have received and pick up arms? Are we going to see an uprising of smaller terrorists militant groups, now? Have we become immune to violence and bloodshed, and to consider them as the only resort? It is still not too late. Someone?s got to stop these terrorists. And to all those Maoists supporters who couple of months ago argued in a different thread that Maoists were not terrorists but revolutionaries, please justify these killings of civilians, if you can.
