Hukka Nepali, I think you are totally wrong about "They will never give it to people who are already here" coz I know few guys who got DV lottery although they were here for their college. One of them is my self (hehehehe) and Other was a guy who was working on Phd at University of Kentucky , few were at Bellevue University in Nebraska. Some of them are in New york...I can have the list go on. Just because you are from Kathmandu and you didn't win it doesnot mean people living in US won't get it...I agree some of them who won a DV can't afford to fly here. If they can't afford to fly here they won't even get a visa in the first place. because they will ask for your afidavit of Financial support or sponsor. I also heard a rumour that they ( US EMBASSY) won't ask for Sponsor but its false coz last year in Sept, when I went to US Embassy in Nepal i came across with 3 different people who didn't have enough money with their sponsor or their sponsor were not qualfied to US embassy standard and were rejected. (But I also met a guy whom US EMbassy didn't even ask for sponsor), Once their visa is refused /rejected then KCC DV will draw the name again and will sent a second list of winners. Again even though you got first letter doesnot mean you will get a visa. You might get rejected or if your serial Number is way below 15,000 you got less chances to get second letter from KCC DV that means you didn't win the DV lottery Period. About being homelss there are different reasons, we can have this topic go on and on so lets just stop it here or bring the home less guy on SAJHA, will solve the problem But my suggestion is don't loose your hopes you will be the DV winner just Keep trying Hehehehehe Peace..
