OK, a CORRECTION I am NOT a journalist. I have NEVER studied journalism. I do NOT make my living as a journalist, though, in a spirit of public service (if you kindly will), I do enjoy writing publicly -- taking risks with ideas, commenting on Nepal-related situations/events, challenging -- if foolishly some popel's and sharing my thoughts with others, knowing fully well are readers are always FREE to disagree with me with their own reasons, and that's the way things go. ******* If you take my criticisms of Sangraula, a public writer, in a spirit of "because we respect him so much we demand much more from him", then, then these criticisms may serve a purpose as a way of giving some feedbacks on Sangraula's COLLECTIVE writings. After all, any reasonable person can see that Sangraula's OVERALL strengths far outweigh his weaknesses, and that it's al good to applaud him for his strengths while making a note fo his PUBLIC failings that "sit oddly with his democratic credentials" BUT If you take my criticisms of Sangraula, a public writer, in a spirit of "we have to uncritically worship Sangraula forever because he writes what resonates well with my political ideology and let's sit around a campfire and sing his bhajan", then, think: How different is any one of us really from the monarchists or the Maoists, either of whom have made the art of worshipping their respective leaders uncritically in a hagiographic manner? oohi ashu
