You can also try the classified ad section of local newspapers "www.villagevoice.com" "www.am-newyork.com" and "www.nypost.com". I have to caution you however. I have been trying to help a relative who is a student get a part-time job in the city but I am having a terrible time 'cause my relative does not have work authorization or ss #. I didn't know that the SS Administration changed the rule to get a ss# - now you need a letter from the INS saying why you need a ss#. I have heard that there is an employment agency started/owned by some Sherpas in Queens but I don't know that for sure. I've seen/met Nepalese working in Indian restaurants in Manhattan but I have never asked them their immigration status or how they got the job. The best thing is to keep knocking on the doors and/or reponding to ads and hope for the best. Good luck.
