From my experience, its same as wateva's, they didn't see the visa while going to Nepal. However, coming back, they confirmed the visa in Qatar, and also stamped in Heathrow before flying away from Britain. So, the conclusion is, you need the transit visa while travelling via London. And I guess its easy to obtain one. Happy holidays!!
