His Majesty King Gyanendra has, in accordance with the constitution of the Kingdom of Nepal, 1990, has appointed prof. Pawan Kumar Ojha to the post of Attorney General of the kingdom of Nepal, an official announcement said Thursday. The state-run Radio Nepal quoted His Majesty?s Press Secretariat at Royal Palace regarding the appointment but did not provide details. An expert on Labour Law, pro. Ojha teaches at the Nepal Law Campus in Kathmandu. He had also served as a member in the then ?Panchayat Policy and Investigation Committee? in the mid-eighties. Pro. Ojha succeeds Mahadev Prasad Yadav who had tendered resignation from the post of Attorney General early this month. Yadav was appointed to the post by the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government last year.
