Abortion right or wrong??

I am pro-life myself, but I believe it's up to women to choose whether they want to have an abortion or not. In other words, one can be pro-choice even if one's values are pro-life. What bothers me about this whole pro-life vs pro-choice argument is that there is the issue of sexism at play here. For instance, in both China and India, where females are treated as subhumans, the male-female ratio is skewed more towards males than females. The reason is that many of these families don't want female children, as they are seen as a burden, who don't contribute much in bringing food, money, etc to the table. Thus they're slaughtered or just dumped somewhere because of this viewpoint. This is a very typical belief held by people in underdeveloped countries. Another thing that bothers me about the whole faux debate about abortion is that even in places like America, some people want their surnames to be passed down to their posterity. The view is that when women marry, they'll end up with a different surname. Now, the new trend is to keep the surname you were born with. For example, Hillary Rodham Clinton, initially was Hillary Rodham only, until American traditionalists took issue with that. So obviously in America, sexism is not as big an issue as it is in China or India, but it does exist to some degree or another. So, personally, I don't think the debate should be framed as a religous issue, but rather a values issue. At least in America, Christians seem to be the ones heavily opposed to abortion, especially Southern Christians, and also Catholics. More later. Got to jet to class.
