We all know that Deuba wouldn't have been able to do anything to restore peace and order to the country. Something had to be done, and I think what the King has done is the right move, and I doubt that the King did it with an ill-intentions. Why? First of all, he probably knew in planning this thing the repercussions of this move. An absolute monarch won't survuive in a world where democracy is everything. If he chooses to restore the panchayat, then soon US and India will be nipping at his heels. Also, there were newsreports about discussions between the King and the Indian foreign secretary about this move. Although India discouraged him to do so, the fact that he had informed them about his intentions again shows that he's not planning some permanent takeover. But why is this a good thing? Because Nepal would have gotten no where with the status quo. Sometimes you have to break the law to enforce the law. I mean, all this talk about regression, the constitution and democracy seriously hasn't gotten us anywhere. I think the King knows what he's doing, and I think he'll have the international support required to bring peace to the country.
