DG Coming back to your query on the difference between Muktak and Poem, for Muktak you have usually four lines. The first two lines usually should have similar rhymes (anupras/laya) and third one would be a free line, where you have the flexibility of writing as you don't need to worry about maintaining a rhyme or laya. The last one usually would follow the rhyme/aupras/laya with the first two lines. For Gadhya poem, you have always the flexibility, you don't have to follow any strict rules. If the poem is quite short or doesnot follow this Muktak rules, I have seen people publishing them as Tukka or Tukra kavita. If you follow the link for an example of Muktak, http://www.paradesh.com/readArt.php?artId=612 You see that the first two lines 1. Naitikata ....Chhan? and 2. Dhilo Chhito...Bikchhan have similar rhymes. The third one, Kaliyug na ho......badhabadma is free line and the last (fourth) line, Kahilekahi...Bikchha has similar rhymes as used in the first two lines of that Muktak. That is what I know. Everybody is welcome to contribute further. Posh
