You may have an affirmative asylum case, meaning you applied directly to USCIS and are not yet in immigration court. Most people being detained now are in defensive asylum cases—they either entered the U.S. and were placed in removal (deportation) proceedings or filed asylum after they were already in removal. These individuals received a Notice to Appear (NTA) and are going through Master Calendar Hearings in immigration court. Many of them are CHNV parolees who were allowed into the U.S. temporarily but now face court or removal as their parole ends after Supreme Court decisions.
