But from what I’ve heard, the EB-3 process can cost around $20,000 to $30,000, take 3 to 4 years, and often requires at least a year of hard labor on a farm, usually for less than minimum wage. And even after all that, there’s no guarantee of success. That might be why many people choose not to apply.

As for immigration reform and new legislation, we’ve been hearing promises since the George Bush era, but nothing meaningful has ever come of it. So I wouldn’t hold my breath.
