If a child is born in the U.S. to TPS parents, the U.S. government will not recognize the child as a U.S. citizen if:

1. The mother was in the U.S. legally but temporarily (like with TPS), and

2. The father is not a U.S. citizen or a green card holder.

This means the child will not get a U.S. birth certificate, passport, or other citizenship documents.
