What is Covid vaccine efficacy

The vaccines have 95% Efficacy, not 95% guarantee. It does NOT have anything to do with how many people will get Covid. The number is an approximation of how many vaccinated people will NOT develop symptoms if they contract Ncov2.. because symptoms (not PCR tests) are the ONLY way to know if someone is ill. And the only Gold Standard for Covid Test is a chest xray and lung biopsy. If u read the literature on how testing of efficacy is conducted, this will become self evident. They do not use gold standard testing. They look at symptoms.

What this means is that eveveryone is _guessing_ based on small statistical samples of trial results. Actual efficacy numbers are unknowable. Because we dont know how to validate all the variables. And we dont know if vaccinated people are exposed to covid. And we dont know if its the vaccine or your immune system that killed the virus. Because it is claimed that nearly 90% of people that contracted the vorus are asymptomatic.. meaning they are health and not sick.

Asymptomatic did not appear as a diagnosis in medical literature until 2020.. So its a made up term.. If symptoms are the standard for testing illness in vaccine trials, then it should be the standard for testing illness outside the trial as well. And that means most people do not get sick from Ncov2..and of those that do, almost everyone survives. Same as the flu, and a thousand other things that cause pneumonia.

Point is.. efficacy numbers are marketing nonsense because the tests are not accurate nor scientific. Statistics are not proof.

For example, the way CDC tests for flu intensity each year is to look at Hospitalizations for Pneumonia and sales of Tamiflu.. Does that sound accurate? Or scientific? Its on their web site.. Based of this, they concluded Influenza infection went to 0 in 2020. Yet a vast majority of people still caught a cold during flu season.. that wasnt Covid.

Efficacy is an approximation of how many vaccinated people exposed to SARS2 developed symptoms, versus the unvaccinated control group that was expoaed to SARS2.

Keep in mind that the vaccinated group _also_ developed symptoms but these were NOT reported because they were attributed to the vaccine and lasted on avarage 2 days less than actual illness.

Why you need a vaccine with 95% efficacy against an illness that is 99.6% survivable.. is anybodys guess. And when you adjust for age and comorbidity.. the flu is far deadlier in children and adults under 50.
