In Nepal, now there has been discussion about asali daktar and nakali daktar regarding babu lal and Da. Rawal. There seems to be a status symbol on placing that Dr. in front of the name. I have listend to the interveiws of TU-graduated Daktars, and have to just laugh. Nepal's education system is a farce. It is a lot different in the US, from my own personal experience since I was enrolled into doctoral program in political science. I complete the course, but dropped out since my goal was not to be a professor and life in USA teaching at university level. My karma vumi was the same as my janma vumi. While such categorization can help in the level of expertise in the society, if they are a pursuit for ego, then it is not really a real pursuit or achievement.
