Automatic extension due to Ramos and Bhattarai cases was inevitable but re-designation should have happened the same time if they were to do re-designate . Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case and now the DHS will be under no obligation to act anytime soon after they announce this extension so unfortunately re-designation is unlikely. It could still happen but probably not anytime soon. It is sad that many Nepali people who were expecting re-designation of TPS for Nepal will be left behind.
