In most countries visas are not permission to stay in country, they are simply permission to travel to that country and seek entry. The immigration who lets you in decides how long you are going to stay. So as long as you are within the period of stay allowed to you, you are good. The validity of the visa does not matter.
And yes Trump administration looking to change it unless u are a hot model willing to sleep with him or have enough money to buy your way in through other ways or in case of sexy in sari she is just one of those like trumps wifey...
