Funny thing is I gree with most of what you said.
We as Nepali are not in position to talk race as we have many issues in our own society with caste and race too. I even agree that Trump is more gravitated toward white voters and is much less inclusive than Biden. Trump often even used racial comments to energize his base. I give you this, as you said noone is a saint but Biden does cover a lot of different races.
I even agree with you on climate change. We need to save planet, but what I do not agree with is how to do it. I am fully for preserving environment while being competitive in world market. Here I see two alternatives one is green new deal which will be a huge burden and other is Trumps cowboy style. I supported trump because of two reasons 1) we have so many technical advancements and public awareness these days even companies will follow more green approaches for cost and publicity. This will make American industries much cleaner anyway. 2) Its disadvantageous to stay in an agreement which cannot enforced. For example China will commit for reduction which in the first place cannot be verified and second it can easily bypasss rules and stay ahead of competition in market. Just like it is doing with coal, it is shipping all to Pakistan and still reaping benefits financially and security in energy etc. I mostly agree with you on this but I think we can live with 4 years of Trump on this, and if we see any negative impacts it can be undone easily by next president.
Corona, its a whole different argument. Its not only Trump's fault, American by nature are arrogant (you know my body my choice, freedom not to wear mask etc) and people here were not prepared mentally for this kind of disease. Combine this with obesity rate, diabetes etc and we have a recipe for disaster. Everytime I go costco or drive somewhere I see a lot of families with kids asking for money. They have no money and nothing to eat. If we compare the numbers, my personal belief is that it will be much more. Also, same with mask. I don't think it was correct for him to issue a compulsory mask requirement all over the country. Just imagine I am outside walking alone keeping 6 ft distance around my house, police can give me ticket or arrest me for not wearing face coverings. Do I want that? No. Now imagine that on a place somewhere in west Texas where there has no Corona virus at all. And police will try to get you for every little thing. Its business for them. I don't mind for a weeks or even couple months but for how long? Other than that I think he did okay job. Trump didn't care about what anyone would say and just banned people coming from China, I think you need a leader at top who only look for their interest first without appeasing others. There have been many thigs that went wrong but I highly doubt Biden would make anything better.

About wanting to see more Nepali immigrate to US. Ofcourse i want that but in long term I think Biden's policy will not achieve that. Most of us flew here, and democratic policy favors people from south and illegals. There will be more illegal immigration if Biden takes over which will create more anti immigration American. This is even true with second generation latino Americans. So I do not support Biden for this reason.

I support Trump because of only one issue, that is economy and keeping America a superpower. There will be next time to argue about social issues but this is the chance when president is willing to defy norms to bring in the industries and help economy. We disagree on this and would love to see how I am wrong on this. My opinion are opinions not facts but based on personal experience, I worked for OEM company and had direct knowledge production planning for more than 10 out of fortune 500 companies. And as soon as Trump announced tarriffs they were all scrambling to find a way to create a supply chain and bring production to Mexico or US. We shifted some of our production from China factory to Mexico factory easily. I felt that it was doable, its just easier in china. Manufacturing went to china because of cost is a myth, man-hours is a small fraction of the cost, where china excel is regulations and material sourcing. I do not mind corporations having to spend more money and work hard in bringing jobs back. Also samething with trade, US has been subsidizing for long time. It was overdue, and Trump is willing to be the bad guy. I think why not, let him be. If it doesn't work out, we can always vote new guy next time
and renegotiate with Europe /allies.

And one thing I took most offense to is how people say who vote Trump are racist, stupid, does not have heart, wanna be Ameican etc. There is no reason to attack them, I personally will vote for Biden if I find argument that supports Biden will be better for stronger America.

And second thing I had problem with is the mentality of people (this may not be true to you). China is our next door neighbor, and if they prosper we Nepali will also benefit. It doesn't matter if China steals technology because my folks are getting better deals back home etc. People even brought belt and road initiative to argue for Biden. This is unethical argument, you want to support a candidate in US election because its better for Nepal. It might be but I find this highly immoral and cannot support it at any cost.

Third thing I took offense is that ( this also may not be true to you), we as Nepali should be tied to Democrats because they are the ones who made possible for us to come here. This is like forming a master and slave relationship, its like they own you. I feel this is taking away people's right to make opinions by shaming them into a fixed position. I want each Nepali be able to make opinion freely without threat of public shame. This is the reason I have been more vocal about supporting Trump. I have felt we are creating vedas and thinking for all individuals as a group.

I think I have made my point, I feel like i disagree with you on economy and immigration for Nepali communities but again this will evolve as I see more arguements. For now we can agree to disagree.
This is my last comment on this thread, it has taken too much of my time. Cheers and have a good weekend.
