Well, she wouldn't have to go that far. She could have simply taken Greyhound ride to just a couple of hours away from New York to Amish town in Pennsylvania if she was only after no cell phone use and simplicity of life. I am sure Amish people don't use toilet paper either. I wish life was that simple in Nepal as it seemed to her... not anymore, everyone is chasing money, everyone is looking ways to get rich. All those 'welcoming smiles' she encountered was for the green that she was carrying and her whiteness. Just sounds like another misguided millennial to me.
