I have a green card and I recently got married. My spouse is here is US in student visa. We already filed I -130 and are waiting for processing time to become present. I have heard different things from different people about if I can apply I-485,Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust  for my spouse or not since she is in USA as F1 visa. Have anyone of you been through this situation. If so, can you give me some suggestion on issue. I would really appreciate.

Thanks in advance..

No doubt, you can. But you will have to wait for the visa number to be current. Your spouse is in status, and you can surely apply for an adjustment of status. Kunai case ma out of status nai bhaye ta farak pardaina. So, just keep looking at the visa bulletin. All the best.

Your spouse will wait a long time if you apply for AOS based on marriage to a green card holder.  Why not apply for your citizenship and fast track the whole process?

Just to add:
Yes you can apply as long as she is in status.

@? I still have 1 year to become a citizen. I cannot apply for citizenship immediately.

@abinabh can we do anything to expedite the process since she is in usa. or i must have to wait to visa number to become current?

There is no way. I am also in the same situation. We have to wait for either Priority date becomes current (visa number available) or wait until the spouse becomes citizenship. By the way when you applied I-130?
