Hi Friends,
Recently i saw a news in
sajha which said that a guy was detained and his visa was canceled
because he was caught selling tobacco to minor in the past. Well i am
also in the same boat and planning to go to Nepal pretty soon. The
incident happened 2 yrs ago and since then there has been no such
records in my name. Can someone please tell me how risky is it? Have
anyone of you done same mistake went back home and came back
successfully? Is selling tobacco to minor a felony or a misdemeanor? How
long does it stay in the record? Will it effect if i apply for PR in
Canada ?
Please Help with all your knowledge and true experience. If there are any nepali lawyesr reading this post do post some legal advice too.

terobaau!! khas ma tyo asti tobacco case ma pareko manche maile chinne manche ho. Uslai Nepal bata farkida port of entry ma samate ko thiyo. Jhandai tyahi bata deport bha ko thiyo tara usle tyehi asylum file gareko lae deport na gari custody ma rakhyo. Its been almost 1 month and he still is in jail. Dont know when he is coming out but I've heard that he gonna be out sometime next week for further investigation. But he will still be watched. There is always some risk while coming back if you have some kind of violation, but it depends upon your luck as well. Mero arko sathi jhan alcohol case ma parera jail nai ga ko manche, Nepal bata aaunda kehi sodhena rae!! Kohi kohi ta 2 patak samma nepal gayera aako pani chan. Tara if you have to go to Nepal then while facing the immigration officer be sure to answer with confident whatever he asks. If he sees you are frightened of something then he might stat pulling all your records. Then u'll be in trouble. Remenber, an immigration officer doesnt have a lot of time to go through every details. His primary objective is to look at the validation of the documents and status. Dont do any thing to raise a red flag. These things doesn't happens to everyone. Its just a luck. But still ask yourself a question " what is important?"staying here or going to Nepal? Whatever you do, it might change your life for good. So think 1000 times before you act. Good Luck.

Thanks everyone for the reply. Thank you rockey bro for all the insights in the matter. It helped a lot. Well i need to challange my luck for this matter because i have to go to nepal. But as you have said few people have come back even after doing greater crime i think its merely luck. If anyone else has some suggestion or real experience please share. Legal advices are also welcome.

No need to fight like cats and dogs on each thread ( we got lot of weeders on sajha ?) .
You have seen people with similar issues, if want to take chance , it is your call.
It is a huge investment for education and how far you are away from graduating? Do a right decision on be half of yourself, so you and your family's dream would not be shattered.
This what I can suggest now.
