Paswan returns CA allowance

KANTIPUR REPORT

KATHMANDU, JUN 01 -
Constituent Assembly (CA) member of Dalit Janajati Party, Biswendra
Paswan, Tuesday returned the allowance he drew during the two years
period in his capacity as a CA member, setting an example for other
leaders to follow.

Paswan returned Rs. 120,700 via Everest Bank on Tuesday citing the
failure of the CA to live up to its mandate of drafting the new
constitution.

Paswan submitted the bank draft to the Parliamentarian Secretariat as
CA Chairman Subash Chandra Nemwang asked him to contact the secretariat
saying that he cannot receive the voucher. Paswan, the only CA member
from his party, had announced to return the amount before May 28.

“It is unethical on the part of lawmakers to enjoy the perks and
services that came out of the public revenue as new statute could not be
drafted,” said Paswan talking to ekantipur.
