well these days they are calling you if you are in reserve too.....so it would have been better if you had sign the contract for 6 yrs active and 2yrs inactive reserve doesnt mean like reserve anymore....and you can be called as many time as they want you to serve outside US...my brother served for 15 months in iraq on 2002 and now he is going again for 12 months.......and i dont know much about MAVNI but what i heard is one guy from Nepal got back from BCT after he heard that they were going to be shipped to afghanistan directly after BCT without going for AIT.......the US army is really outnumbered these days
so good luck guys be safe and HOOOOOOAAAH!!

Best of luck! I have several friends that are in the military. It's a tough job, but is rewarding (from what I heard)

@houston Kancho:
Fighting for future country, Isn't that better than fighting for the British as Gurkhas as even till now British do not give equal pension to gurkhas as they give to British. Nepali Soldiers had to struggle really hard to get citizenship and bring their family to UK. I hope its not the case in US.

Good Luck Guys and play safe.

Once again, Nepalese just can't stop being judgmental and messing in others' business.

hey jjkinxnepal,... u wud some medical at reception that is where u go before u go for basic trainin , basic isnt that bad since you are not trainin for infantry .. as for cell phone i say take one with u , they will keep it and during basic trainin dependin on company they would let you use it . we got 30 mins every sunday and as u are there for longer they will let u use for longer time .

Its not that bad DS  are kinda ahole at first but after u been there for like while they get laid back and will help you a lot... jus keep ur eyes and ears open . be at the right place at right time on right uniform ...

You will have lot of fun , if you have a good attitude and take it positvely .. if you have more questions u can send me a mail thru sajha or jus ask here

Hey dude ... so where have u been stationed right now ? Iam stationed at Yongsang, Korea. So how long have u been in the army ? Maybe we should create a online community of all the Nepalese in the US. Army. I would like to keep in touch with y'all. So please feel free to email me at psameer182@gmail.com.

Good luck guys. Never forgot to take Khukuri with you. Try calling each other as Gurkha if you meet Nepali also in front of american. If you identified yourself as Gurkha taliban will surely think you are a brave warrior and will try to escape from you.

Sameer bro, contact me if you want to start an online community for nepalese in the US military.  I've been trying to do something like this for the longest time.  Let's get this thing started.
