Colors of the Earth are always refreshing for the eyes and calming for the soul. During my trek to Gosainkund we trekked through an amazing ancient forest. The trees were so old, so tall, if only they can talk they would tell us amazing stories. We went during Janai Purnima (August 2007), it was raining during the entire journey (3 days going up, 3 days coming down). We were soaked in the continuous rains. I slipped and fell a couple of times on the rocks, injured my wrist. But had a wonderful time, nevertheless.

Strange to note that Utah and Amsterdam are half worlds apart. Are you originally from Nepal?

Oh, give me a home, where the buffalos roam, where the deers and the antelopes play...where seldom is heard a discouraging word and the skies are not cloudy all day.

Home, home on the range,,,where the deers and the antelopes play...

Home is where your heart is, my fren. When you're in the silence of the forests, look deep inside your heart and it will tell you where your home is. Listen carefully to the language of the heart. Go back and look once more at your roots and you will find the treasure that you're searching for all over the world, right there where you left it.

hey mr blanky(_____) i dunno what to call you except that i was away for a while so just could not give a quick reply to you,i do really like your pics myself being a photographer( amateur and for fun only),yu have a good sense on capturing images i find a great quality and variety in your pictures, but some pictures i find little less light but it can be a matter of opinions, and i guess you do not use tripod? am i right?
anyways keep your picture coming they are worth for the eyes
and yeah what i meant by mushroom trip is mushrooms which contain the psychoactive chemicals ibotenic acid and muscimo are when eaten hallucinogenic in nature and eating those is called tripping, its quite a god experience but could go horribly wrong if not done properly or if your head cannot handle hehehehehe i did those couple of times during 2003 and it was quite a good memory
niways lets leave it and appreciate your pictures and i leave on of my own for youhttp://www.sajha.com/sajha/chat/smileys/m-wink.gif

Shantasamudra bro,
Ok, I understood. I have some idea about hallucinating mushrooms, but I was not hunting them, It was  my way of relaxing from my hectic work. Thanks for liking the pics, if the scene is soothing to me I take pictures. You may have noticed most of my pics are like birds eye view that is covering lots of area. You are right some pics are not that good its because sometime battery is about to drained some time my main camera is not working then i have to take pics with different camera and sometimes my own faault, wrong judgment.

your pics are also great bro, somehow I feel these pics are taken in Salt Lake area I may be wrong though.,

Heartbeat  yeah life is good near nature, some day I will post pics which i took during diving, i felt very peaceful during that time, I was deep in water with fishes and this time in Russia my accommodation was in the middle of woods.

My accommodation

Hi fren, I'm actually learning from looking at your pics. I'm also an amateur in this field. I use a Nikon SLR and an Olympus Digital. Most of my pics are taken during my trips to Nepal. So far been there 7 times already. Building up a steady collection but I would like to upgrade to a digital SLR.

In the middle of the woods! Were you staying in a hotel or hostel? Or is that your own place? Looks rather large and lonely. What's your favorite activity? I just recalled the nature walks I used to do when I was a little girl in school. We used to collect leaves and flowers and later keep them as pressed flora in books. Now I understand how this love for nature was developed.

Perhaps you may have had similar childhood experiences.

Heartbeat,
Its good to know that you are also interested in photography. I mainly used Canon power shot G2 which is point and shot, I usually use canon S60 to take photograph during diving, I also use Pentax, Sony DSC-P72, all digital. Although I started taking photo using film camera but I am very poor on it.

regarding the accommodation its almost in the middle of nowhere, nearest city, 40 mins drive, nearest town 15 mins drive and nearest village 5 mins drive, its sort of hotel, downstairs dining room,  gym and few other rooms, upper level 10 bed rooms.

Regarding the hobbys I am jack of all master of none, I usually love to walk ( my hobby since childhooe). I can walk hours and hours, once in Utah me and some friends were alking it was Februry and was snowing, we were lost, after 5 hrs of walking in snow we found our hotel. landscape with mountains/river/field always fascinates me. Anyway this time we decided to walk to the nearest town which is about 12 km away from the accomodation below is the pic.

Hey! That's a great pic! It reminded me of a movie I saw many years ago...Dr.Zhivago. Its a love story that takes place in Russia during the early stages of communisim. What inspired me most in it was the amazing, incredible natural sceneries in Russia. Sometimes all you can see is miles and miles of glistening snow, freezing temperatures, bright white sunlight, tossing snowflakes and in the midst of all that you are given hope of a new life when Spring sprouts the first bud in the snow! Wow! Life is beautiful and so is Love.

Anyway, I'm impressed with your collection of gadgets. You do have a good variety for different purposes. Personally, I prefer to use the SLR as it helps me improve my photographic skills. But the digital version has a technological edge over the other. I also like to take black/white shots as they give you a different perspective on the object. Still, I'm very much a student and I consider photography to be a science on art.

Well, looks like we have more than one thing in common...like you, I also can walk for hours provided I'm in the middle of my mountains, forests, rivers and under the bright, blue sky. That's when I "get lost" and find myself far from the maddening crowd.

Heartbeat,

Yeah Dr, Zhivago is a nice film. I enjoyed it too. Yes you are right different cameras are good for different purpose, these companies always know how to attract buyers.
Its amazing after long and cold winter when the spring comes you can see buds. I think Life itself has a great survival techniques built in, small seed can crack a stone and grow. Even the grasses survive thrashing winters and come alive in spring.

Beauty of life is more understood when you are in very risky situation like where mistake is not an option. When I work in that situation I realize how important is to live. Love is beautiful too but sometime it comes with tragedy. They say to understand love you have to be deep in love but once you are deep in love there is always a chance of tragedy, that scares me a lot because we have only one life to live.
One more near village

Hi fren, you know we have been having this ongoing thread and I personally find it empty when you don't have a name or even a nickname. Every inanimate or animate object has a name to describe it. And here you are, an intelligent and talented human being without an identification. The symbol ___ seems blank. You may have a reason to choose this sign but it responds to the word "what". Why don't you give yourself a name? It would be more meaningful to know someone by his/her name or nickname. Anyway, this is just my observation. Don't worry about it.

In 1989, I had my first experience of winter in NZ. Boy, oh boy! I couldn't get out of the bed! My feet went 'dead', couldn't sleep at night, my skin dried up and I nearly froze to 'death' in my bedroom. But when I saw the first signs of spring, the buds were literally popping out within hours, I was amazed at Nature's power of creation. It was too beautiful to see Nature at work. The various colors as the leaves and flowers changed day by day. No man can come close to Nature when she's at work. She's a real tough one!

I always believe that Life favors the bold and brave. With work we can take calculated risks but with love, who knows what is in store for each one of us. I've had enough personal 'tragedies' in love but everytime my faith in love and in life gets stronger. I refuse to give up and 'die'. Like you said we only live once...and so, while we still got life in us, we must always take the challenge to love deep, to love true, to love again and again until Love loves us.

So, what is there to be afraid of?
