Hey !did you watch the movie BLACK of SanjayLeela Vansali.
Many critics and film analyst named him a ginius director after watching this movie.
well I was also one of them.
Yesterday, I watch a movie in TV named The Miracle Worker,
then i came to know that Vansali is not a ginius director but a ginius चोर .

Black is ditto copy of a movie ,The Miracle Worker. The movie was realesed in 1964.
Movie is far better than Black, everything is superb.
Although the movie was made in 1964,
cinematography, actings, casting and direction is 1000 times better than Black.

wah dhoties! you have proved once again that you all are brilliant in चोरी !!!!!!

i told that louder and louder to many people and they really didnt care..

that was a stolen movie.

I had watched that movie 4 years back in my dad's psychology class for 3 hours.

every frame and words are from there. there is no difference in black and that educational movie

i wonder that kind of stolen movie got top of the year and got the awards..

shame on dhotis.

The word "Bollywood" says it all. The name itself is a copy of "Hollywood".
Dhotis are not creative enough to find an industry name for themselves and copied even western industry name.

Strange enough, these Dhoties changed the name from Bombay to Mumbai, because they did not want the name given by Brits.

Now that the name Bombay does not exist, why are they still keeping the name "Bollywood". It should be named "Mollywood", or "Muliwood".

Bloody dhoties.....

friends, the movie miracle worker is based on true events of blind girl helen keller and her mentor Annie Sullivan.. true story.. i have not seen either of the films so i am not going to predict anything but artists often borrow materials and get "inspired" from a source.. sergio leone once got inspired by kurusawa's yojimbo and made fist full of dollars.. mr. leone was not a chor.. many movies have been inspirational to others... now again, i have not seen the films but before rushing to judgement i would give bansali some space.. by the way he also remade devdas which was origianally made from a book.. the the original film maker copied the author.. bansali le original ko choryo??? i know many who steal and yet make an inferiror product.. as long as bansali makes good films, i couldn't care less if he borrowed or usle choryo.. once again, mr.bansali is one of the better indian director with films such as khamosi, hum dil de.... and so on. i don't think it is appropriate to lable him as a "chor" unless he is for real a "chor."

The movie black is simply hindi version of the life of Hellen Keller. Nothing new, its all about hellen keller. Its dumb to belive tht its bansali dhoti bhai creation or copied from some kuire movies.

It's been a while since I saw a Hindi movie, although I hate to defend Hindi movies, I want to share my experiences. I know Bollywood makes copie of Hollyhood and get away with it, but sometime it's the other way around, not from Bollywood. Nooooo way!
The recent movie from Martin Scrosse's "The Departed" with Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon is an exact copy of a Hong Kong movie, I forgot the name. They do not mention it's a copy, just like Bollywood. Going back in the old days, movies like "Few Dollar More" with Clint Eastwood and "Last Man Standing" (Bruce Willis) is an exact copy of a famous Japanese movie from Akiro Kurosawa, I think it's called "Yojimbo" if I'm not wrong. Recent days surge in horror movies in Hollywood are all from the line of the popular "The Ring", a copy of a Japanese movie "Ringu".
Even George Lukas (Star Wars)was influence by Eastern movies, especially the work of Akiro Kurosawa and he's put characters that were copies of Eastern culture. Come on! Jadi's with long hair, swords like torch light, clan based, living with strict codes, I think it's called SAMURAI in the East. Yoda with those chinky eyes, short, with broken English is nothing but an earlier version of Asian that came to US like those "Me NO Englishhhhhh. Me hornyyyyyy"

Insomnia with Al Pacino and Robin William- exact copy of a Swedish movie. I think it's called Insomnia too. "Tortilla Soup"-copy of "Eat Drink Men Women" from a Chinese director, Wangker Wai. What's up with Quintene Tarantino ! All he does is bring some Chinese movies over to Hollyhood (damn with his fasication with martial arts) and are edited like hell so American audience will concieve it. I know there're lots of copies Hollywood make from other countries.
Making copies of Bollywood, now that's something out of question. There's no culture who wants to see a movies with action, tragedy, comedy, singing, dancing all sqeezed in a single movie, except Indians and of course we Nepali have accepted them. That's why Bollyhood can never make on the mainstream world of entertainment. While a Taiwanese director has an Oscar for best director, even though we watch and brag so much of Hindi movie, it will never become realistic for Bollywood to be accepted in Hollyhood. Apu from Simpson is more popular in America than any other Indian actor. How about that? What does it say?
It will be wise for Nepali to be open with all culture and copy only the best, instead of copying blindly from Hindi movies. My 2 cents opinion

something to think about....would you call Peter Gabriels remake of King-Kong...a copy too then??
Personally I think the director did a very good job in Black...I would place it in my top 10 indian movie list!!!

well ...well guys!

I don't Think Vansali is a great director. what is his acheivment?

Khamoshi- a flop!
Hum DIL.....- It's an average film ,this is story which is repeated many times before
Devdas- it is a good film. Devdas was made before by othe director and he could have done some technical chori from previous versions.

About black- I have forgotten to mention that I saw a new version of The Miracle Worker which was realed in 1997 . Its a british production.

if u think vansali is brilliant then watch this version(1997). Then you will come to know the truth. Every scene ,diolouge even camera angle match to black. only one thing is different and that is- teacher's role is played by amithabh instead of a lady. and after waching the british version you will notice that amitabh has done over acting like shouting and unneccessary facial expressions.

manepali dude,
kamoshi might have been a dud at the box office but was full of praises by the critics.. hum dil de.... despite its long name was a big hit .. won awards.. critically praised..the way he used colors to dipict Gujrati culture..in my opinion, the ending was typical but i disagree with u.. overall it was above average..Miracle worker was a 1962 pic by arthur penn (bonnie and clyde fame) not 1997. can't say much about devdas except, again, it was well received by mass and the critics.. again Miracle worker was based on a TRUE STORY.. on Hellen Keller and Annie Sullivan.. it is a well known fact that bansali was inspired by Hellen Keller's story when he visited Keller institue.. his film is based on a gujrati play that was inspired by the miracle worket, which in return is based on true events
judging by your few comments, i don't think u know much about camera angles.. or shots..you are firing bullets in the darkness..the fact, you used two different criteria (hit/flop) to justify your arguement (bansali is average) speaks volumes of your naivety. this guy makes one film at a time tells that he is not a sell out and is a serious artist.. which indian director would take a cast of salman khan, manisha (at her prime), nana among others and make a film on mute and deff? that is a risk few would take..
even if he copied miracle worker frame to frame, he still is a good one..
would hire him anytime over bomb throwers like our friend, manepali
yes, nepali kancha, malae dherai furshad cha.. you can continue to be busy!!!!

.There is nothing wrong in re-making a movie. The problem lies in the fact that the directors and producers don't call their movies a "remake" but claim that they are original. Bhansali trying to take "Black" to the oscars on the basis of his claim that it is "original" is ridiculous.

As to Vhoote's claims about movies like Clint Eastwood's man-with-no-name trilogy, Pacino's "insomnia" and other horror movies, we cannot blame them for copying other movies. At least they let us know that their movies are remakes, unlike Hindi and Nepali moviemakers who claim their movies to be original.

So, I say, the blame does not lie in the copying process, but on individuals responsible for making such movies. They have to be honest and let the audience know that it's a remake, and not an original.

mr.live wire.. i think you are blind fan of Vansali

I did not say to khamoshi a flop beacause of its box office collections. well i didn't find any thing to say it a great movie. if you say it was great movie becaause Nana patekar and seema biswas was deff, then i don't have to say any thing about it. I know some good movies are flop in box office but khamoshi was not one of them.

about my knowladge of camera angle, shots and technical issues , i think ,i dont have to show you my certificate of graduation or my knowladge regarding it.simply i tell you that find a copy of THE BRITISH VERSION of 1997(not AURTHER PENNS 1962 version) and watch it you will easily able to find what i am trying to tell u.

mainepali, my man, you are an amature.
A film is referred as a flop if it fails to make money at the box office. khamosi was a critical success, one of the best of the year. and there was no miracle worker released in 1997. one in 1962, one in 2000 and one way back in the 1930s but non in 1997. sunya!!
send me some details, ie actos' name or director so that i can dig it out of the void. Ofcourse, you can have your opinion. If u found kamoshi to be less than ordinary, i feel bad that u watched it at the first place. But don't put words in my mouth either. I am not a blind fan or as a matter of fact, even a fan of bansali. But, i know for sure he is better than most.

i dont see anything wrong in copying a story and re making a movie, hollywood makes movies of US, not for india, whats wrong if the story is nice and somoene from bollywood makes it again in hindi for their audience.

and just coz they stole the story doenst mean anything, the creativity part is always there, be that from the director or actor, and i think BLACK has achieved that.

so hats off to you mr.sanjay lal bansali and all the actors
