McLaren Senna – $1 million

McLaren

Named for the late Formula One driver Ayrton Senna, McLaren’s latest supercar is both track-focused and street legal.

Outrageously styled, it rides on a carbon fiber structure, with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine putting 789-horsepower to the asphalt. Active aerodynamics at the front and rear help keep it planted to the pavement at all times.

Arash AF10 Hybrid – $1.2 million

Arash

This aggressively-cast hybrid-powered hypercar comes from a low-volume English car builder that lays claim to “spaceship technology.”

The AF10 Hybrid’s powertrain pairs a 550-horsepower 6.2-liter gasoline V8 engine with four electric motors in a so-called “Warp Drive” configuration. It’s certainly as quick as a rocket with a combined 2,080 horsepower and a 2.8-second launch to 60 mph.

Mazzanti Evantra Millecavalli – $1.2 million

Mazzanti

With a slim production run of 25 units, this Italian carbon fiber hyper coupe runs on a bi-turbo version of the Chevy Corvette Z06’s V8 engine that’s rated at 1,000 horsepower

It can take the low-slung coupe to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds on the way to a truly illegal top speed of 250 mph.

Zenvo TS1 – $1.9 million

Zenovo

Coming from a little-known Danish supercar builder, the two-seat Zenvo TS1 features standout styling, bolstered with a twin-supercharged 5.9-liter V8 that’s claimed to put 1,100 horsepower to the pavement.

It can run to 60 mph in around 2.8 seconds and achieve a blazing top speed of 233 mph. Production is limited to 15 units.

Koenigsegg Regera – $2 million

TED7.COM PHOTOGRAPHY

The name of Christian von Koenigsegg’s latest supercar translates into English as to “reign,” and the exotic Regera is truly the king of the road; it’s a hybrid, to boot. Here, a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 gasoline engine is further motivated by three electric motors to generate a combined output of 1,822 horsepower.

Super-sleek styling is highlighted by unique “constellation” daytime running lamps that glitter as if encrusted with diamonds (they might as well be at this price). Only 80 units are planned.

Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta – $2.2 million

Ferrari

This is the open-air “spider” version of the passionate and extravagantly priced hybrid-powered LaFerrari; with a production run just over 200 units, all are already spoken for.

As in the coupe version, a V12 engine with 800 horsepower – the most powerful naturally aspirated (non-turbocharged or supercharged) engine ever used in a Ferrari road car – is augmented by a 120 kw electric motor for a combined output of around 950 horsepower. It can hit 60 mph in less than three seconds and reach a maximum 217 mph.

Pagani Huayra Roadster – $2.4 million

Pagani

Ultra-exotic automaker Horacio Pagani rips the top off of his rip-roaring Huayra and replaces it with a removable bonnet of carbon and glass. It comes powered by a 6.0-liter, twin-turbocharged Mercedes-Benz AMG V12 engine with 764 horsepower that’s responsible for a sprint to 60 mph in less than three seconds.

With a production run of just 100 units, all have already been accounted for.

Bugatti Chiron – $2.7 million

Bugatti

Bugatti follows up the coveted Veyron 16.4 with the equally passionate Chiron. It’s powered by an updated version of the automaker’s 8.0-liter W16 engine (think of two conjoined V8s) that nets all of 1,500 horsepower and can propel the two-seater to 60 mph in a sudden 2.4 seconds.

Production is limited to 500 units with 300 already promised to clients.

Aston Martin Valkyrie – $3.2 million

Aston Martin

This road-ready track star was developed in conjunction with Red Bull Racing and makes a bold statement. It rides on a lightweight carbon fiber structure and packs a mid-mounted V12 engine; the driver and passenger sit in a reclined “feet up” position that emulates a Formula One racer.

Production is limited to between 99 and 150 road cars, with the first deliveries commencing in 2018.

Lamborghini Veneno Roadster – $4.5 million

Lamborghini

The costliest ride we could find is another open-air hypercar. Essentially a barely street legal racer, the Veneno encases its occupants in an ultra-angular aerodynamic shell that’s drop-dead gorgeous.

A 6.5-liter V12 engine eschews turbo- or supercharging but nonetheless generates a whopping 740 horsepower. With only nine units built, like other Lamborghinis, it’s named for a famed fighting bull.
