k1 will take around 5-8 months from filing to visa interview
It depends on what sort of evidences of relationship you have....going thru lawyer is a waste of money...

Ok here are the steps you need to do.
First you need to decide when you are going to marry. you should give 5 months time between the day you want to file for K-1 and the marriage date, (Important: no more than 5 months)

Suppose you want to marry in November 2016. You will file I-129f with other required documents sometime in July 2016 to Texas service center. The texas service center will send the docs to NBC Vermont, The Vermont center will send it to KTM embassy. This whole process does not take more than 5 weeks. The US embassy will contact your fiance in Nepal via phone to come to Embassy, and will explain the steps for the visa.
There will be numerous steps to take before they will schedule visa interview like immunization, police report etc.

Your fiance will schedule for the interview and may get visa immediately or may take up-to two weeks.

Once, she gets the visa, you go to Nepal and get married traditional way, but you will not marry in paper in Nepal. After, the marriage ceremony is over, she will come to USA and get married here in a city court in front of a judge. Then, she will file for greencard.

In whole process: the most important thing is time between you filing for I-129 F and marriage date. You don't wanna keep more than 5 months.

Why does he need to go to Nepal and marry before his fiance comes to US??????? His filing date and marriage date are not related at all and so the time between those dates is not important. He can file i129f anytime and is not dictated by the marriage date.
He can file the petition now as long as he has met his fiance in last 2 years and bring his fiance here within 5-8 months, get married in the city hall and file GC for her. After she gets GC, they can travel to Nepal whenever they want and they can go for traditional marriage whenever they want or not at all if they don't want that.

Furthermore, i129f is to be mailed to Dallas Lockbox not to Texas Service Center. The Lockbox will send your petition to any of the Service Centers depending on their workload, not necessarily to Vermont Center.

Thank You Solu123 and ny2, these information are very helpful. Solu123 what do you mean by I should give 5 months between k-1 application and when I want to marry? Should I fill out my intended marriage date anywhere during the K-1 visa application process ?

What I meant is this.
So, after your case is approved and sent to KTM embassy (which does not take more than 5 weeks in general since you filed I-129F to Texas center), your fiance has only four months (it could be less) to apply for visa. She should schedule interview within four months. After four months pass, the case is considered to be abandoned, and your fiance will not be allowed to apply for visa. Although, online research says that it depends on the people of embassy if they will let her schedule for interview.

Should I fill out my intended marriage date anywhere during the K-1 visa application process ?

No, you need to.

So why it has to do anything with the marriage?
Current k1 processing time is around 2-5 months. At the best case scenario, lets say it got approved in 2 months. His fiance has to apply for the visa within 4 months after that. She has to come to US within 6 months of visa approval. They have to marry within 90 days after she enters US.
So from the filing date, they can literally marry in US in 4-5 months at the earliest or even in 14-15 months at the latest.

its too easy.. hiring lawyer is waste of money... just go to USCIS website.. download the form i129.... you can find everything on the website- what to send, where to send, how much fees, how etc etc
Once you mail the form and fees.. just wait and go with the flow... it will take around 5-8 months. once your packet arrive at the US embassy in nepal, they will inform you and your fiance.. then she/he has to go do medical and interview. and thats it.. once she gets to the US get married within 90 days however you want and file for GC.
