I am international student. I was just wondering if you guys help with the query i have. I still don't have ssn. Shall I still get the tax return money like the normal international students?  My college has sent me the 1098-T form mentioning my college's temporary SSN starting from 999-xx-xxxx. Did you earn last year? If you have earned income,  you have to file tax as non resident alien , which will be 1040NR.

HOLD your Tax filing until mid Februrary if you have educational credit.

I don't have the complete answer u need but the number that starts with 999 is not a temp ssn, it's an ID no. For int'l students. (In Texas) an international student can't file a 1098t legally, unless you are married to us citizen. Most of my friends did so anyways, without getting in any trouble , as far as I know. But since u don't have a ssn I don't know how that goes.
