Hi,

I (H 1B visa holder) and one of my friends  (Citizen of US) are trying to buy a fast food store. We want to register a company name, with 50% partnership so that later on if we want to buy another business we can do it through our company. Do you guys have any idea on how to register a company name with equal partnership.
Also, is our partnership possible, due to my visa status. Any help or experiences will be helpful.
I want to find out as much as I can before I go meet a lawyer.
Thanks.

I'd suggest you guys register for LLC not LLP unless you guys plan to marry each-other. Partnership is ideally suited for service industry like IT, Accountant or lawyer etc.
