Deepak Bista got his ass kicked so badly by the Iraninan Hadi Saei. He could not even score a single point. It was 7-0 win by Saei. The match was over within a minute or two. Deepak Bista, sir you were a pathetic loser in that match. Please don't go back to Nepal if you don't win any medals. Now, I know why Uday Hussein used to torture and kill his loser Iraqi Olympians. Shame on you.

I just wasted a precious one minute of my life watching the shortest Taekwondo match. I woke up all night just for this disgrace match. You disappointed all of us.

I am a martial arts freak, I have learnt Taekwondo since when I was very little  then  Sitoryu Karate2 yrs, Judo 3yrs and back to teakwondo for  8 yrs and some whushu too I still practice it till this day.......I watched the match and I liked the way Deepak Bista played. Is it me or there is some more out there who thinks the scoring was a bit off.......... I mean look at boxing and judges around the world are complaining that the scoring system is bad and incorrect. Deepak landed good kicks that scored in my books and the match could have gone either way. This IRI guy is sort of a legend and world ranked among #1 players But Deepak is not your typical everyday player too. His achievements speak his ability. For me I have doubts how the game was scored and like boxing where hundreds of punches are thrown on target and just 1 or 2 scored, Deepak feels that he too scored a lot of points when he screamed for the point after contact. ......Hey he made it to the olympics , that it self is a huge accomplishment........Congratulation

Trilochana hun, no I am not making any scene. Why is it that when I post any new thread, it becomes an issue in Sajha? :(  It was late night, I was drunk, tired and sleepy and on top of that I lost my bet on that match so I might have been a little harsh on Deepak bro in my comment.

By the way, Trilochana dear, I hate Fox News and all the freaking Neo-Conservatives (NeoCons). I am not a propagandist like them or am I?

Rewire,

What BS that you want to investigate how Deepak got a chance to participate in Olympics. He is one of only 2 atheletes from Nepal who ever got qualified to compete in Olympics. The other being Sanjina Baidya. You get qualified to compete in Olympics from your performance in other tournaments such as Asian Games, Asian Championship, World Championship, etc.

All other athletes who have ever represented Nepal in Olympics were wild cards i.e. they were selected by Nepal based quota provided to participating countries by IOC and not based on their skill or performance.

We should be proud that he at least qualified to compete in Olympics, which I think is a big achievement. However, I was disappointed that he looked so nervous and did not perform well.

Pat,
I don't know the intricacies of how they get elected, of course you seem to have in dept knowledge, maybe you're connected to Deepak. I've nothing against Deepak. With so many achievement before the Olympics as you've mentioned like" Asian Games, Asian Championship, World Championship", don't you think those are really BIG words, compared to his performance at the Olympics. World Championship??? I think you must have mistaken it for OLD Championship, maybe? It does NOT matter what you call him, GOD, CHAMP or anything, if he cannot prove it, who cares. Do you know I've a golden elephant at my house?
Mongolia got a Gold For Judo for Christ Sake....They're drowning in Vodka in Mongolia as a celebration as of right now. For us it's not even a single point, forget about GOLD (that's too far), a single point. Is that too much to ask, few point, just few points.
Disappointed with Deepak, nothing against him.

Rewire:

Repeatedly, it was mentioned here in this thread that Deepak was "qualified" for Olympics, that means, he was selected by IOC to compete in  the Olympics, not elected or selected by Nepalese "connected" people.  To be qualified in Olympics, one has to compete against other international athletes and be one of the best to be in the Olympics.  If you know anyone, who was not sent to qualifying games, we would like to know that.

Having said that, I do not think it was disgraceful game for Deepak.  I watched the game and saw the sense of respect in both athletes towards each other.  Both looked nervous.  Although, Iranian had already defeated Deepak in earlier games (Was that in Asian games or/and World champinships????), he did not come to the ring looking at Deepak as a "piece of cake".  To score 7-0, Iranian had to work very hard!

See the link below. It is over 4 hour long tape.  Deepak's game starts at 3 hr 50 min

Nas, criticizing other is in your blood, isn't dude..
You are the most hopeless and ass hole person i ever seen in my life. I have seen lots of thread of yours.. in every thread, you just sucks .. criticizing other and only blaming. What you wanna prove i don't know by criticizing him but I appreciate Mr. Bista. Win or loss doesn't matter, the main thing is he participate. Look at the training and financial aid  given to these kinda nepali player by nepali government. Its noting compared to that of those people who beat him.

And one more thing.. look i don't have any kinda personal issue with you ok..but I think, just to attract a attention of others, you are creating these kinda bullshit thread. I think you are just simply sick minded. Check your brain bro. I think you need treatment

I don't think this is really the appropriate way, for anyone to talk about an athlete who has worked his way up to the Olympics. I haven't seen him fight, nor do I know much about him, but I know under the Olympic flag he represents our nation. You have equal chances of winning or losing. The guy, fought at his best, but trying to publicly humiliate him for a fight is just a very disgraceful thing to do. You lost a whole night's sleep - you didn't lose a whole lot to complain about someone who has probably worked very hard to be a good fighter.  Give the guy some credit for trying.
