Saw the Indian Idol. This is the 1st season, I have been following it closely. That's probably because Udit and Prasant are there. Despite my personal misgivings about Indian policy and hard-power in the S Asia, I can't resist the soft-power of Bollywood - who can? ;-) The memorable thing about June 29th episode was the way Anu Maliik treated our fellow countryman Udit (although some might think Udit to be Indian given that he has supposedly renounced his Nepal identity) following Emon Chaterjee's performance. F***king Anu ordered poor Udit to hold his mike while he applauded Emon, what an a**hole. Anu is obviously trying to be Simon Cowell of Indian Idol and he's doing a good job at his. Udit shouldn't take Anu's sh** anymore!!! Of course my favorite singer besides Prasant is Charu Semwal from Dehradun. Supposedly, she sang off-tune yesterday but it didn't sound that way to me. And lastly, Alisha Chinai and Mini Mathur are 2 other reasons to watch the show :)

Gaule hero ,cant agree with you more on your last line .LOL ....This is my first indian idol too and like you I am also following because of Udit and Prashant .But most of the times I am watching at Mini Mathurs tits .....since kinda sexy ....alisha is suddhi already . I have watched all of prashants performance and I bet june29 was his best one .I wish prashant best of luck but then I have a feeling that somehow Amit Paul will win this competition and he is a dark horse and luck is riding high on him right now ...despite forgetting lyrics he is in gala round ...wow but then my heart is iwth prashant ..............

Hi madhesi , I listened to the original songs and the other one sung by Dubai guy Mr Ali .I think Prashants was 5 times better .The only thing I am afraid is that Prashant may drop his mic while singing in future .The way he holds mic is kinda scary ............ Just watch and see and mark my words guys .....he will drop his mic in some performances in future ................

They are really great singers and look at their age! .....Indian music industry is definately going to get bunch of bundle of talent around for a quite sometime. They are great.....But Prashant is the greatest... I would love to see him as Indian Idol. He is caught... great clarity in pronunciation of sounds he does not have in his language (kha from the throat... I don't know how to do it or what is it called) but the ones we have put us in trouble... ज झ स श ष य ए एि but he is catching them up. I guess that's common with all the Nepali speakers.

SexyDeuta, I think you don't have much sangeet gyan by saying Prashant is 5 times better than Amanat Ali. Prashant is a pretty good singer compared with other Indian Idol contestants, but have you even watched Saragemapa? Those guys are learned singers and they even sing better than the current playback singers. In that song alone, Prashant cannot be compared with Amanat Ali. Amanat Ali is learned singer. He stays with the Sur, and taal. You know how hard that is, especially while performing live? Those two cannot be compared. Indian Idol is a performance show and the judgement is based on how satisfied the crowd and the judges are. Saragema is based on pure music and singing talent, not some performance gimmick. You cannot compare apples with oranges. That said, I give all the best to Prashant. Although this is the first time I've watched him sing, Seeing him give such a good performance without actually taking music lessons, and having difficulties with accent, I give kudos to him!!.

i agree with fountaindew indialidol contestents cannot be compared with saregamapa singers those are much much matured and have better qualities than indianoidols same is the case with above songs amant ali has sung the song much better than prashant but this doesnot mean that prashant is bad, prashant can compete with other indianidol singers and hopefully win the contest but at the moment not with amant ali

'Training ' is what differentiates Prashant and Mr.Ali .....that is why my favor is more tilted towards Prashant .I may not have good music knowledge but I still feel Prashant sounds more pleasing than the original song from 'Dor'.

I'm a fan of Prashant, but I also agree with fountaindue. Prashat sings every song smoothly and easily. He pronounces each word clearly. I'm afraid that he is going to lose the battle down the road in this competition only because he is not a trained singer. I feel like his voice is coming from his throat. Learned singers throw voice from the chest. Listen carefully how Amanat Ali sings and how he stresses some words to add feelings to the song. Having said that I don't have musical knowledge whatsoever to make comment. I wish all the best to Prashat and I'm sure he will do much better when he learns music.

Yeah I agree sunima, I was watching saragemapa last night and Sunil, Raja Hasan, Desh Gaurav, and Harpreet, are really good singers, and it's funny that they are in trouble because of competitors like Junaid, Joy, Musharrat, Amanat Ali, and so on. Whenever I see Saragemapa, I cannot help wonder how these guys are performing so great and how hard it's on the Judges to eliminate them. I've been a music guy ever since I was born, but here, it's so hard to tell who's better than the other one. Simply amazing!!.

I get your point Sexy deuta. I think Prashant is pretty good knowing the fact that he's not trained and have problems with some hindi words. But I hope that he can overcome these deficiencies and go up all the way!!

Its very obvious that Indian Idol is nowhere close to saregama.Indial idol is turning out to be a performance show for amateur singers. While saregama is throughly professtional ( little more drama this year) . Some of them are even better than current indian singers. Just look at one of the contestants of saregamapa. He is mussarat and is my favourite. NAd then think of Emon or Avisek ( They are somewhat trained ones), but thety are non even close to saregama contestants.
