I probably heard about Tanka Dada. I want to hear the reason for
death of Tanka? Were his crime so severe to get death penalty?

Dada giri is formula in Nepal. It looks to me that Tanka Dada was
a poor guy who could not reach to become Minister in Nepal.
Because Uttam Dada, Deepak(Bohara) Dada became Minister,
Surya Dada is head of Prajatantrik Party's Kaski Chief.
Arjun (already deceased) Dada, I liked him in the sense he
was not directly bad to public, but, he served to public and
he was surely deadly among third world peoples especially
when it comes to backdoor politics in Nepal. You know what?
P. Dada. Well, BRB Guru, Prachanda Guru (next stage of
dada giri is being Guru, then, Pracharya ......).

I will say Dada are poor guys, who are mostly used by some
political leaders in background. Deadly peoples are those who
like Omrish Puri in Nayak have double faces: in public and on
the other side of the curtain.

So, we should not be enjoying on the random death of
deadly dadas, because that is not going to solve the problem.
Because like rear rows of teeth in snakes mouth, there are
others in the rear row who will forward to front and replace
broken teeths, so snake will not be in trouble for the loss
of front teeth's in its bite. What we need is to find the root
cause of problem, I will say its backdoor link between political
leaders and these dadas.

So, I am not enjoying for the death of Tanka Dada, I am just
worried a new dada will be there in row and this will remain a
chronic problem in Pokhara. Well, Maoists dada giri is not less
than Tanka Dada's dada giri, probably more severe and
serious and more organized it is.

Having higher degree is not only a good thing, you need to be literate and understand wats the exact problem behind ! So lets not blame them.

When our country will be free frm Maowadi!!! When!!

So it looks like we should regret that we don't have that Gundaa anymore. Or Should we?

Damn, I am confused!

Melina,

Gunda does not mean that you just kill him while
he is on motorbike. Does the crimes he committed
fit, the punishment he got? You can not kill someone
who committed a crime? My question is that should
not the punishment fit his crime. Should we kill just
because he is dada?

Was he killed in encounters? Does not look like so.

Maoists way of punishing peoples for a crime is deplorable.
We will not need more time to hear when you ask the
same question when a person you know closely is heavily
punished for a crime that does not fit the degree of punishment.

This is just another Gunda-gardi, and it will keep in reciprocating
and its repurcation effects in society. This is a lawlessness,
and as Padma Ratna Tuladhar claims that Maoists don't have
to follow the law of Nepal, because they have their own unwritten
(publicly unavailable for discussions or disagreements).

So, I am not going to accept this killing as a punishment for a Gunda.
I wanted him to get fair trial and his punishments should fit his crime.
The current punishment he got was something like punishment for the
crime he did and plus addtional punishment to teach others (threaten)
others that see you commit a crime, the punishments will be too heavy.

That is important here. If you are agreeing with this punishment tricks,
then, your mentality clearly shows old feudal mentality and support
to anarchism.

Let everyone get a fair trial.(whatever their crime level is)

Tanke died because his presence directly affected Maoists extortion, he allegedly, use to take 'hafta' from businesses, they didn't shot him because he was a bad guy, they shot him because he was a competition.maoist are biggest and baddest gangsters we have here in Nepal right now, in comparison to them tanke, chakre, manage etc. are just the small fish. While they are stronger, if you are arguing about a fair trial, u must b living on some other planet.
GP you wrote about arjun dada, I personally knew him, he wasn't a dada kind of person or never acted like one anyway.

GPji
Are you talking about Arjun Gurung? If that is the case, I second disillusioned's voice.
I believe he ran a boarding school in Pokhara. He was only a class senor to me in Amarsing aka Soldier's Board School.

The reasoning given by "Disillusioned" is relevant in the current context
of Nepal. As long as I am talking about fair trial, we have to defend it,
if today Tanke is killed, tomorrow our close relatives will be killed for a
small crime in order to illustrate others not to comit a crime. I still remember
a story published by TIME/Newsweek regarding how political circles in
China punish their rivals. A small example was a rival was killed blaming
for stealing a electric bulb in public place / road, and that guy was
killed in an stadium by lining up like in movies. They asked public to come
to see the killing so that they have fear and scared to commit a crime
in future? Do you want such society? Run by fear? Not by law and fair
trial?

If you want that kind of punishment to create a fear so that public
don't make crime, I think we better stop discussion on this topic. We
are in different world. Of course, its extremely hard to visualize the
concept of fair trial, but, fair trial is a leg of civilized society, I believe.
We have to give education to all at least upto the age of grade 10.
Arjun Gurung, whom I used to call Arjun Dai, have seen how venurable
he was when he was in Amar Singh (R Baral ji, you look to be in
between him and my grades..... I was in grade 8). Arjun was dada
in that Age, but, when he went out of Teen Age life, he completely
changed his behavior in contrast to Krishna-dada (younger bro. of
Uttam-dada: Uttam-dada is now the President of a leading Bank:
nice guy to Pokhareli's when it comes to getting loan instantly). What
we need based on how these guys passed through, in my understanding
is that they needed education and good environement. Had Tanke a
better environment, they would have become good guy in the society.

My understanding in Education is that Nepal should demolish the exam
system they have in schools: every student should pass the class
irrespective of score in the exam at least upto the age of 15, so that
they can learn to be positive and optimistic. By failing them several
times in the same class, we are turning them to be a member of Dada-giri
and it is the root cause of dada-giri in Pokhara. Whether you believe or
not, its the fact.

Lets not give up for our sides on Fair Trial how severe is the crime s/he
committed. Crimes can be reduced by an education system that is free
and does not require to pass the exams, but, requires simple attendence.
Think with cool mind. You need a good combination of heart and mind,
to accept Free trial in order to make it move towards a modern civilized society.
It looks now that we are still in Middle east type of society, equivalent to stoning a girls
for having affair with a boy? Cutting hand for stealing a small item? .........

GP bro,
Law and order ,peace and prosperity ,civilised society....
we all dream of same thing, but in our context it looks a distant dream. but somehow I believe this war within will end someday, until then we just can behave in civilised way but not to expect same from others.

GP jyu, Dadas might be poor guys but that doesn't give them right to do whatever they want.Dadas are no good--may it be Gyane Dada ( the big one), or Girija Dada, or MaKuNe ( Madhav Nepal), or ChiKuWa ( Chirinjivi Wagle). They all should be killed.Let's not forget about Prachanda and Baburam. What good have Chakre Milan and Manange done to our society? Why do we need them? They need to be killed one by one (or all at once). We are the only ones who deserve to live.
Like it or not, that is how it should be.

GP Uttam pun was powerful politician in Pokhara. Why are you calling him dada ,i cannot understand ..he was Neta rather than Dada .Yes he had hired dada's namely Panche but to protect himself from opposition Sitaram KC who had hired dangerous dada called Tanke .

The one who talks so many things about so many people in pokhara doesnt know no wrong doings by Tanke Dada ??

When Dhirendra Bir bikram shah dev (now dead ) was in pokhara attending Rastriya Khelkud pratiyogita more than a decade ago ,he saw two beautiful twin girls Namita Gurung and Ramita Gurung (sorry second name maybe wrong ).Our Dhirendra sarkar then ordered his ADC's to bring those girls to his room .He raped both of them .Since he had raped two clean school girls from pokhara he felt he was in deep trouble so he hired a famous dada called Tanke .

This is the same Tanke who took 'supari' from dhirendra sarkar and killed those two girls in kalikhola ko bhir (near nadipur) by stabbing knife one by one on a broad day light while the cattle grazers on the other side looked on .Eye witneses were not one or two ,there were more than 10 they went to police station but since our Dhirendra sarkar had laamo haat longer than Kanoon ....Tanke walked free .Nepal ko kanoon Bhagwaan ley janoon .

this is just one example he had killed one dozen people in Myagdi ,dhaulagiri anchal so and so ................

GP, you are just not making sense..

No matter how uneducated you might be, how poor one can be, you are born with a thing called BRAIN, DIMAG to be more accurate, and with the use of that Dimag a person can decide what is Right and what is WRONG..and for me being a dada or a gunda wasnt a right choice, hurting people...and killing them..

and yes gal1 personally i BET Hitler wasnt bad either, he loved his job and he was a very dedicated person on what he was doing....

dammn ..GP. think logically, a guy who beats ppl up, steals frm them, a guy who has no respect to the society, nor himself, is he good to be around??...TO DECIDE WHATS GOOD YOU DONT HAVE TO BE EDUCATED ....if you cant do good to anyone, better do nothing, than doing bad....DUDE GET A LIFE MAN! u just make me sick!

having regret is nothing, ITs just a EMOTIONAL PHASE that ONE man passes thru, what you have done cannot be changed and having regret for something you have committed, doesnt change anything...

TK KO Poi:

The skeleton of your story looks very similar to Namita
Sunita kanda of 2037-2038. Namita Parajuli and Sunita
Parajuli of Kathmandu. They went on trip to Pokhara
with Neera Parajuli, said to be agent .... .... and
Namita Sunita raped by some Royal relatives living in
Army camp (Phulbari) and killed. Dead body found in Ram Ghat.
I remember the terrible time, you can not speak their
names and the thorough checks around ThanKot kathmandu
asking each and every passenger whether someone knows
about those R. gundas. Indeed a relative of mine was jailed
in Pokhara for 15days without access to any relatives just
for telling to some friends in his University in India that
he might seen the girls and the guys seating on the bus seat
in their tour to Pokhara. He was sent a CABLE message
to university by Nepal Guptachar in his relatives name and
the message wrote: your father is seriously sick and come by
tomorrow. He came via Bhairhawa and was caught in
Immigration and sent to Pokhara in secret police van, finally,
jailed in Pokhara for 15. Finally released after they confirmed
that the fellow was just joking and he did not exactly see the
those gundas and the police confirmed that these gundas are
safe.

Unfortunately, a ban pale was killed and thrown into seti by
police radio nepal said he died : sucide. He was in police custody
and why he has to die? That was a white lie from Police.
Thus, Pokhara was threatened by R. Gundas under the
protection of Police and Army.

Well, I am not talking about supporting Gundas whether Tanke or
Uttam. Well, Uttam was dada and later Guru, now President.
Unfortunately, Arjun was killed in the search of doing business
related to Mani in Rautahat.

I will always support the idea of fair trial in court and punishment that fits crime
not more not less. I do not support such haphazard punishments whatever
may be the level of crime. Its just another fear and another version of
gundagardi.

Oh My God .So he is the same Arjun that was killed in rautahat in search of"mani'? I read his story in 'satye kathaa ' kitaab .

namita and shamita were prajuli's ?? are you sure ?? i thought they were gurungs . I was too young then .

whatever the real murderer was Tanke . every tom dick and harry in pokhara knew about it .

TK ko Poi,

No, you are wrong. Namita Sunita ka villians were staying in
RNA camp at Rani Pouwa. They are not from Pokhara, both
victim and criminals are from Kathmandu, only they were harming
Pokhara by committing crime in Pokhara. Pokhara was defamed
by these rapists.

Tanke was dada / gunda, but, in current nepal's contest he does not
count. He was killed to create a fear, and classic dada giri (localized)
is now replaced by organized crime syndicates as you know it and its
in the name of politics.

Well, dadagiri in Nepal is influence of HINDI MOVIES, illiteracy, poverty. Some people don't like to work and they want to get money from easiest way which is DADAGIRI. DADAS are given good benefit from their dadagiri.

Thatýs why Nepal government , policymakers and politicians should give attention to the education of people and recruit them for a job (enough for food, shelter and education), avoid discriminations and promote good environment!

Now dadagiri has transformed into Don Corlioni style. Nepali Don Corlioni is Comrade Prachanda of CPMM.

haha B_B, good one..

all these dada's shud be send to an assylum , coz they cant seem to think whats right and whats wrong...remember local dada's show their dadagiri on mostly UNEDUCATED ppl and the poor ppl are the ones that suffer..so as much as Hindi movies, illiteracy and proverty is concerned they are just an excused for doing WRONG ....dada giri doesnt require adding 2 plus 2, it requries some sense to know whats right...
