Planning to make a move to Dallas Suburb area in near future. Not too familiar but looks like north Suburb around Frisco, McKinney area looks appealing. Obviously, being new, I am looking for place where Nepali community is up and coming and a little away from hustle and bustle of big city - got kid to raise. So, looking for places with good school, neighborhood and good places to eat.

Any advise/suggestion on apartment neighborhood around Frisco area where we can mingle with Nepali community from people who are familiar with the area would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

If not Frisco, think about Irving Belt Line and North Gate area for mini Nepal.

@skyuser -
In Areas like Frisco, McKinney and Plano (west Plano and even East Plano but east is little old), you would never go wrong, All tech jobs (if you are into IT jobs) are there too and schools are great. Even Allen is good, including school ISD which usually falls in top 10 every year. You will see lot of Asians there, including Nepali in Plano and McKinney. Frisco maybe more Indians. Property tax are in middle range for DFW meteroplex.

Now if you got little more of this $$$, then Southlake, Westlake and Highland Park. Top 5 schools in Area but very less Nepali and just the right amount of outside of hustle and bustle. House are expensive and property tax is at higher end.

If you want to be in the center of DFW, Coppell is very good with great schools, and house price and tax falls somewhere in between the above too.

Flower Mound is my ideal place with great schools (although ISD is Lewisiville) and was recently named top 10 city for family in the US (BTW, Frisco was named no 1). property tax is lowest in DFW metroplex with just under 2.1 %.
Grapevine and Colleyville are other two just adjacent to Flower mound. great schools.

Little outside is Keller. Piece and Quite and perfect to raise family.

Arlington and Euless are OK and lots of nepali. Search Viridian community in Arlington and very big community with 20-30 Nepali family.

I would personally not even try Irving or Grand Prairie.

hope this helps.

Personally I wouldn't recommend moving to Dallas! There is like little to nothing for outdoor activities, yes you can go to the lake and park that is all! Unless you are here to just work work work! Rent is cheaper if you live by Irving belt line area but that is it! Consider Denver, Seattle

Thanks everyone for valuable suggestion. Now I have a better idea than before.

Specially thanks to STUPIDA for taking some time from your day schedule to help out fellow human, really appreciate it.

It is always jittery and nerve filled to make a move out of your comfort zone, we are nervous but excited as well. Hopefully, one day, i hope we will cross each other's path in DFW metro.

Cheers!
