Pune: Police busted a gang of Nepali thieves after contractor Aashish Bhavarlal Jain lodged a complaint that diamonds worth Rs 17,00,000 and cash of Rs 17,50,000 were robbed from his house when he went out on a tour. Khadaki police started an investigation and nabbed Nepali gang whoch also had Jain’s watchman as an accomplice.

During the investigation, police found out that Jain's watchman was absconding since the crime took place. Since Jain did not have enough information about his Nepali guards, police started gathering more inputs on him. 

It was suspected that the thieves were preparing to flee to Nepal and a team was deployed to stop them from doing so. They tracked all railway stations, bus depots and also stated investigation in Mumbai, Kashimira and Bhayander.

The investigation team received a tip-off from the cyber cell and subsequently, cops trapped the thieves. Pune police team followed a tip and arrested all accused from Uttar Pradesh's Hapur district. The accused have been identified as Keshar Prem Sahi (aged 23) resident of Malket, Kamal Gaon, Kalikot, Nepal and Krushna Brikbahadur Shah (aged 35) resident of Santada, Achang district, Nepal. 

Police recovered ornaments and cash worth Rs 18,96,139 (Cash of Rs 6,71,039 and diamonds worth Rs 12,25,100) from the duo.

Modus Operandi of Nepali Gang

The gang of thieves first took up jobs in building as watchmen. They gained the confidence of the residents by working hard. Then they gathered information about the routine and travel plans of the home owner. When there was a window available, they called their colleagues and robbed the house.

Citizens should get the proper and complete information about the people working in their houses as well as the security staff. Same information should be submitted to the local police station.
