As I read what I found is they are not Nepali, they get angry when police told them something about Nepal. So she is trying to tell that all who looks like Nepali are not Nepali, she try to be proud Indian.

The blogger seems upset that Indians living in the Northeast are referred as Nepalese and rightly so. I wish those who went above and beyond to ensure that an Indian guy called Prashant Tamang won 'Indian Idol' stopped doing the same! That was one farcical incident.

People living in Darjeeling, Sikkim and other regions are Indians, not Nepalese. Those people speaking Nepali and having mongoloid features means little as far to me.

Those nepalese speaking Indians belittle nepal as much as their compatriot dhotis do....so I am kind of stoic towards them.

Why generalize everything when culprits are few. Those stinky fews are everywhere. Blogger who wrote the post and the police chief who took the time to review the case, are both worthy of praise.

I have seen this happen in Nepal too.  Yes, in Nepal.

Anyone with mongloid feature are referred to as Bhoteys (Tibetans).  Just like this Mizo chap was made to feel like a foreigner in his own country, many in Nepal are made to feel like non-citizen in their own country.

And just like it is not due to ignorance but to "looking down upon" when anyone is called Nepali in those circumstances, being called "Bhotey" is also same phenomenon.

Just something I observed.

What goes around comes around. We do the same to Indian looking people & Madhesi people(even though they are Nepali).
