Samrat Upadhyay, the first Nepali fiction writer in English to be published in the West is the author of two bestsellers, The Guru of Love and, Arresting God in Kathmandu, and the recepient of the Whiting Writer's Award. At Williams, Samrat will read from his collection of short stories, The Royal Ghost, slated to be published next year and will also discuss broad themes such as the emerging group of South Asian authors writing in English.
