INLS HQ and DC Metro Chapter proudly announce that it is going to celebrate the 96th. Laxmi Prasad Devkota jayanti on November 7, 2004. This year there will be some more interesting, entertaining and knowledgeable presentation. All the community members are warmly welcomed to participate in this annual program to make it a grand success. We encourage and request all poets to submit their poems for the ceremony and participate in the "Samasya Purti" competition. The Samasya Purti will be on "AAKHIRA CHHARCHHA HAWA LE PHERI, EK MUTHHI KHARANI"
The first second and third from the competition will be awarded with a cash prize of $150.00, $100.00 and $50.00 respectively including a Certificate of Appreciation. And $50.00 will be awarded to the winner of the Nepali Children Arts Competition.
Some rules of the poem competition:
1. Poems must be in Nepali not exceeding in 100 words.
2. Any one affiliated with the INLS is not eligible for the competition.
3. The poet must recite his/her poems on the spot to include in the competition.
4. Poems must be submitted no later than Oct 31, 2004 to either on of the addresses:
