Dear Parent(s) of Nepali Children and Community Members, School of Languages and Cultures of Nepal, Washington DC, a part of International Nepali Literary Society DC Nepali Education Project (DCNEP: http://www.inls.org/nepali) has successfully conducted one and half years (three semesters) of Nepali language classes for children and adults in the DC metro area. The School has also successfully completed two semester of Nepali Dance Class for Children as well. Spring 2004 semester of classes are starting on coming Saturday (March 6th). An orientation and registration session will be held on this day. We are happy to inform you that popular Nepali actress and professional dancer Ms. Saranga Shrestha has joined the School of Languages and Cultures of Nepal as primary dance instructor starting this semester. Thanks to local artists Pragya Sitoula, Manish Pokharel, Pramita Prajapati and professional dancer Sachita Karki for volunteering as dance class instructors for Spring 2002 and Fall 2003 semesters. They will continue to serve as alternate instructors for Nepali culture related classes. Thanks also to Nepali language class instructors Nora Thapa, Geeta Prajapati, Pratikshya Sharma, Kalpana Subedi, Sujan Shah and Kiran Sitoula for teaching as well as donating their salary to Nepali Education Fund. They have received membership on the “Nepali Education Advisory Council” as Nepali Mitra (Friend) member. We are still seeking additional instructors as well as volunteers from the community for the School.
